The CHIPS Design Studio, led by Dr. Suat Ay, was established in 2024 to expand WPI’s microelectronics curriculum and conduct research on custom integrated circuits.

The Major Qualifying Project, WPI’s senior capstone project, offers a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to design, tapeout, and characterize a real chip. Visit the Projects page to view past undergraduate and graduate projects.

Additionally, our published research focuses on integrated circuit solutions for biomedical or and sensing applications. See our latest publications for more info.
